TALK NERDY TO ME

I write here. I'm a poet, playwright, and n<3rd.
This blog originally had a theme a week, on which I would make a number of posts related to that theme.
I stopped, because I'm silly. I want to get back to that...I will, soon.
I grew up in the Southeast (geographically) though the state I'm from is totally considered Southern (and it IS). I now live in the East.
Most my followers know me personally. But I love followers who don't.

What’s in a Twinkie?

Great infographic from Newsweek, which accompanies the article This Is Why We’re Fat! by Gary Taubes. It’s a provocative article challenging the conventional wisdom on how we should fight the obesity epidemic. Click through the image to embiggen.

Mmmm. Just the look of that sodium acid pyrophosphate gets my mouth watering.

Oh Tumblr Community Guidelines

But please don’t use Tumblr’s Upload Video feature to host any sexually explicit videos. We’re not in the business of profiting from adult-oriented videos and hosting this stuff is fucking expensive.”

Sailor Moon vs. DBZ

Zachary Sterling: I like the look of Sailor Mars but I think I would date Sailor Mercury

Zachary Sterling: I have no data to base this on

Zachary Sterling: But I feel it in my bones

John Johnman: LOL

John Johnman: yeah, she's got brains

John Johnman: I mean, mars is hot hot hot hot fiyah

John Johnman: but mercury's a smart chick

Zachary Sterling: See, my bones know what they like

John Johnman: she also has an english accent in the american dub but that's not like...canon, or anything

Zachary Sterling: Did you watch as much Sailor Moon as I watched DBZ?

John Johnman: ummmmm

John Johnman: possibly

John Johnman: I watched it every morning before school in elementary school >.>

John Johnman: it was on super early

John Johnman: I should submit that information as proof that people are born gay

Zachary Sterling: If only you watched more DBZ

Zachary Sterling: You'd be a super-straight macho man

John Johnman: SO CLOSE

John Johnman: Although really which show is gayer

John Johnman: I mean...DBZ is a bunch of shirtless dudes grunting for like 20 minutes straight

Zachary Sterling: And ripping limbs off and killing

Zachary Sterling: vs

Zachary Sterling: Skirts and heels and transformation scenes with sparkly nails

Zachary Sterling: I dunno man

John Johnman: HEY. I'm sure a limb came off at some point...

John Johnman: mayyybe..

Zachary Sterling: A nail was broken at some point

John Johnman: A nail was DEFINITELY broken at some point

------

Just so you know, a lot of the women were really gay in the original Sailor Moon, but it wasn't released in the US until about ten years ago, even in manga form.

So technically, Sailor Moon was "gay-er."
